Once upon a time, on the morning of the Saturday the 26th, two busses left from KY to an unknown destination. Kilometer by kilometer, the amount of snow increased on the lands as well as on the trees beside a tiny rural road in the middle of Finnish countryside. After passing the other bus - which was coming towards us with all the people still on board - the journey continued forth, and forth, until the bus found itself stuck in a ditch…
Gentlemen were asked to give a hand in getting the bus out, but we soon found out we were beaten by the gravity. Luckily for us, some locals happened to arrive at the scene, and (many) moments later a tractor arrived. We were swiftly back on our way.
After arriving at the cottage, we were greeted by a scent of lunch, after which the Finnolympics begun. The evil reindeer certainly got what he deserved, and traditional Finnish sports such as wife-carrying, kyykkä and boot throwing were among the famous events of Finnolympics.
The evening continued with the International Dinner, where each county’s representatives prepared a traditional dish of their lands. After some mingling, the night continued with the oath at the bonfire with hot chocolate and sausages, after which we hit the sauna. The rest of the night went by fast while having fun.
